This review is strictly about the food, everything else is great. The place is beautiful, the staff and service- awesome. I've eaten here 3 times now, and it's gone downhill since I ate here when it first opened, which was okay then but now super not good. Prices are incredibly high and portions are small and getting smaller, along with the taste and presentation. This would be fine if the food was remarkable in any way but it's really not. You can get a better steak pretty much anywhere else, same goes for the breakfast. I get what we are all paying for but still, a little more effort could be put into the food. It just seems like there is zero passion being put into preparing it. Not being rude just being honest.

Went to the George for an early dinner on Friday. The George is located in The Fairmont. It's a beautiful hotel and a beautiful restaurant that was recently updated! Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Drinks were great as well, highly recommend the Sugar Plum. We ordered the deviled eggs and the salmon crudo to start. Deviled eggs were pretty good, I never order that at a restaurant but I like them. Salmon crudo was fresh and light. I personally ate the black cod and really loved it. The sides were a good portion size, we split the two for four people. Everyone at the table enjoyed the restaurant and the ambiance. Beautiful place to celebrate a special occasion! The only complaint is I wish the staff was more knowledgeable about allergens present in their food.

We had dinner at The George during our Christmas-time staycation at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. The interiors are beautiful and the ambiance is great for a date night. We ordered Oysters, the Bone Marrow, and the Gold-Encrusted Bone-in Ribeye with a side of Pommes Aligot. The food was prepared well and tasted good. For the price we paid, I wish they had something more novel, something that adds character and elevates the dishes a bit more. The service was great. Overall rating: 3.5/5

We went to the George for a team dinner after a networking event and it was so beautiful. I had never been to the Fairmont, and my experience made me a huge fan. Our server was fantastic and made thoughtful recommendations for food and drinks. We ordered the crab dip to share and it was amazing. For my meal I got the French onion soup and beet salad, both fantastic. Can't wait to go back!

We went here for Christmas Eve dinner and it was a grand time! Service was top notch, drinks were well mixed, and the food was good. We did have a problem with the entrees being very cold, but that was remedied by our server bringing a new dish. It was still only slightly warm, but better than a cold steak! It would be fun to try this place with their regular menu.

This is an overdue review for dinner during the holidays. Overall, I think the ambiance is great. However, the food was a hit or miss and maybe a 3-3.5 because of the price. With that said, if you're looking for a fancier setting, I do think this is a nice option. Ambiance / Service: restaurant is really pretty & feels chic - brightly lit, tall ceilings. This is a good option for a date night or celebration. You can definitely dress up for dinner. The hotel also has a good bar in the lobby with lots of seating to grab a drink before or after dinner (it's also decorated nicely for the holidays!) Service was ok, a bit slow. But we didn't feel rushed which was nice and was able to just sit and have a 3+ hour dinner. Food: this was a hit or miss because the apps & dessert were good, but the entree was a disappointment. -Caramelized Onion Soup: exactly what I wanted. Perfect onion soup. Flavorful, salty, and cheesy. -Smoked Salmon Devil Eggs: comes with 4 halves. Doesn't actually come with smoked salmon, like I incorrectly thought, hah. Delicious. -Steak Frites: I will say, the steak was cooked well. But this was underwhelming. Steak had zero flavor. I had to put a lot of salt and pepper on it. The fries also were lacking in flavor somehow. -Tiramisu for Two: this is more like a dessert for 4 people - it's huge! Comes in an actual cake pan. This was good.

our server was so friendly and very helpful always checking on us amazing. The food tasted outstanding. It was a shrimp like ceviche that I would highly recommend my French toast was so good crispy loved that the blueberry compote very good and the ambience is beautiful. The detail, the cleanliness, the plants, the lighting so pretty.

Went for a friend's birthday and it was a nice treat. It's a nice space and service was good. We had: 1) beet salad - 4/5. Good solid salad. 2) crab dip - 3/5. Fine, but not memorable 3) beef bourgignon - 3/5. Not my fave. 4) cod - 3/5. Not my fave way of cooking it. 5) squash ravioli - 4/5. Well-cooked and good flavor 6) apple strudel? - 3/5. The brandy wasn't burned off enough so it was strong. They gave us a chocolate cake with a sparkly candle for the bday gal which was a nice touch. Overall a nice experience, but I don't think I would necessarily return for the food. The drinks are good though!

This was an amazing treat! This place is not only beautiful but Tami was the absolute sweetest person. Our steak was not the proper temperature but it was soooooo flavorful that we ate it anyway! It was the last steak of the evening. While we didn't care about the 24 kt gold flakes on top, the steak and everything else was delicious. This is a MUST HAVE! *We also had breakfast here but I ate my omelette too fast and forgot to snap pics.

I love the vibes of this place. It feels airy and luxurious, perfect for a girls day brunch. The brunch menu is prix fixe, either 2 or 3 courses. 2 courses was more than enough for us. I ordered the autumn bisque, the chicken and waffles, and an orange mimosa. The autumn bisque was carrot-y and ginger-y. Very warm and yummy. Would've been extra good with some bread to dip it with. The chicken and waffles was pretty good as well. The batter was nice and crunchy. The chicken itself was super juicy. But there wasn't much flavor to the chicken :c the waffle was good tho! Sweet and delectable. I love the scone cart that they roll around for brunch as well! Not sure if it's unlimited haha but I loved the variety of toppings. The scone itself was a bit on the drier side, but with the fresh whipped cream, jam, and honey butter, it was a perfect vessel. Service was super friendly, but a bit on the slower side. It probably makes sense to allow customers to chill, chat, stay for however long they want, but it was hard to find our server to get the check, get to-go boxes, get a spoon for my soup, etc. Overall, beautiful vibes, pretty good food.
